Position Overview: We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Director of Marketing Procurement to lead and optimize both our internal and our clients' marketing sourcing and spend strategies. This role is pivotal in developing strong supplier partnerships, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and driving maximum value across marketing investments. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of marketing categories, exceptional procurement acumen, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy for marketing categories, including but not limited to digital media, creative services, events, sponsorships, and production for Green Cabbage clientele.
- Partner closely with client marketing leadership to understand goals, budgets, and performance metrics, and align procurement strategies accordingly.
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and enforce compliance with both Green Cabbage and client-specific procurement policies.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality service standards tailored to client needs.
- Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure competitive pricing and offer innovative, client-specific solutions to meet diverse marketing requirements.
- Oversee the procurement lifecycle for Green Cabbage clients, including RFP development, vendor selection, and ongoing vendor performance evaluation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and optimizing procurement practices for clients.
- Monitor and report on client procurement KPIs, delivering actionable insights and strategic recommendations to senior client leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in procurement with a proven focus on marketing categories, including ad purchasing, digital media, creative services, and event management.
- Expertise in ad purchasing, media buying strategies, and optimization techniques to maximize ROI while minimizing client spend.
- Proven track record of developing and executing cost-effective strategies for marketing procurement that deliver measurable savings for clients.
- Deep understanding of market dynamics, including emerging trends and innovations in marketing procurement and spend optimization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and negotiating favorable terms with vendors.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with diverse client stakeholders and supplier partners.
- Proficiency in procurement and spend analytics software/tools, with experience in leveraging data insights to drive strategic sourcing decisions and cost savings.
- Ability to assess and optimize clients’ marketing budgets through benchmarking, spend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple client priorities while delivering outstanding results.
